Jeremiah symbolizes all that we do for our cats. The beginning of his story was filled with all the challenges a feline friend may face, and finding him a forever home was at the top of that list. Unforeseen circumstances cost him not one adoptive home, but twice Jeremiah returned to our care. Sheltering Hands never gives up on the animals in our charge; even when they leave our organization we maintain the call to be their guardians. With hope, we continued the search for what would be his perfect future.
The third time was truly the charm, and this furry gentlemen finally found companionship with Diane Kupchak of the Villages, FL. Together, the twoAhave formed an inseparable bond, filling the spaces they share with love. As Jeremiah was getting settled into a happy life, Diane was inspired by both the resilience of our organization and its cats. This led to the creation of Jeremiah’s Journey. Through this capital campaign, we seek to bring the animal welfare services of Sheltering Hands to the Villages area. Here we aim to better serve both senior cats and citizens, like those belonging to our Love for a Lifetime Program and Jeremiah.
CAPITAL CAMPAIGN OVERVIEW
Our mission is simple: Improve the lives of cats through humane care, low-cost spay/neuter surgery, comprehensive cat adoption programs, education, and support services for the community. Our Love for the Lifetime program pairs Seniors with older cats, and Sheltering Hands covers all medical expenses. Many of these clients live in The Villages, so ‘Jeremiah’s Journey’ is a Capital Campaign created to bring our services to the area. This location will include a Thrift Store, Wellness Clinic, and Adoption Center. By opening this new facility we aim to easier serve senior cats and citizens.
The Sheltering Hands Thrift Shoppe will has launched it’s retail operations with great success, and we are now looking ahead to the next step in Jeremiah’s Journey. Our next goal is to create a space for regular feline wellness visits to serve our Love for a Lifetime senior cats.
