Get your walking shoes ready! It is time for our annual Stray Cat Strut to benefit Sheltering Hands’ work with feral/community cats in our area. The Stray Cat Strut will happen on Saturday, October 24th from 8-12pm. This year we have moved our event to Tuscawilla Park in downtown Ocala. This lovely park, which features two ponds, a children’s playground, picnic area, paved walking paths and various outdoor sculptures is a wonderful place to walk while helping stray cats. For the bird lovers in your family, the ponds regularly attract a wide variety of wading birds including wood storks, herons, ibis, egrets, whistling ducks, wood ducks and even majestic white pelicans!
Our table will be set up beside the walking path on the east pond side. Look for the balloons! There is a $5 fee, per person, to participate in the event. All proceeds will go to our Community Cats Program. This is a family friendly event and you are welcome to bring your children and grandchildren. You decide how many laps or how long to participate! Come out anytime between 8-12 and walk to help our feline friends. The table will close at 12:00. We are close to the downtown area, so if you are going to the Ocala Art Festival on Saturday, stop by and visit with us before the art show, which opens at 10:00!
See you at the Strut!
