Memorial Garden Project at Sheltering Hands
We have a special project coming up that we need help with- our Sheltering Hands Memorial Garden. As many of you know, when we purchased the property for the Surgical Center, we envisioned a special memorial area with blooming native plants and quiet areas to sit and spend a moment remembering our beloved companion animals who have passed over. Although we are still working on plans for our memorial area, it is time to begin laying out our walkways and installing plants.
Saturday-Monday, May 28th-30th, we will begin our project. We NEED help to bring this special area into being. Whether you have an hour to install a couple of plants or can spend a day helping us lay a walkway, your help would be so appreciated. We will begin each day around 9:00 and work until some time in the afternoon. Come any day, stay for any amount of time, bring a friend or two, but please consider sharing some of your time for this project. All of us have special places in our hearts for dear companion animals that have passed on. We hope our memorial garden will give everyone a special place to come and remember them. After we have the garden established, we will be working on ideas for memorial objects that people can purchase to memorialize their special departed ones.
If you have garden tools ( shovels, trowels, etc.), please bring them as we only have a limited number of tools. Please plan to dress for outdoor garden work. If you do not have time to volunteer but would like to help, we would also appreciate donations of native plants that are easy care, bags of regular color mulch, or bags of garden soil.
We hope to see you at the Surgical Center this coming weekend.
